Personal reminiscence, December 2006-January 2007.

Reminiscence of service in the Far East before World War II in the Navy where he received training in cryptology, Japanese, and Chinese. He served in the USS Lexington at the Battle of the Coral Sea and in the USS Yorktown at the Battle of Midway. He was commissioned a warrant officer and served with RADM Milton E. Miles and the SACO group in China until November 1945.
